Sultanate of Paser
His Royal Highness King of Paser XVIII
Dr. Sultan AMH Adrian Sulairnan, ST., MBA

Guy Biton, our VP of Global Business Development, was invited to Indonesia by the His Royal Highness King of Paser to open discussions on implementing our Small Modular Reactor (SMR) in the high speed train project and as a power source for the thousands of remote Indonesian islands.

This high speed train project will integrate our SMR to provide stable power for the system.  The plan is to build SMR power stations that will provide revenue and be the funding mechanism for the rail project. The plan is to extend the line 800 kilometers, so that the rail extends from Jakarta –> Bandung -> Surabaya.

This integration seeks to achieve synergistic development and commercial profitability in transportation and energy sectors.  The occupancy rate of the high speed rail is currently 98% on a daily basis, making it the most profitable high speed rail in the world.

The Indonesian government has a target of additional power generation capacity of around 71 Gigawatts (GW) in the next 10 years, with 65% of it being developed by the private sector (IPP).  In the National Electricity General Plan (RUKN) and the Electricity Generation General Plan (RUPTL), the government is targeting an additional installed capacity of Wind Power Plants (PLTB) of 5 GW by 2030. In addition, the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) is also targeting an increase in electricity capacity of 35,000 MW or 54,000 MW in the next 5 years, with available reserves reaching 30%.

Solving the electrical power gap will open investments in transportation, housing, water treatment, waste management, technology infrastructure, commercial infrastructure, medical facilities, social and public facilities, education facilities, and green industrial zones.
